To the west, the world famous Woolacombe surfing beach and to the east, Ilfracombe’s Tunnel Beaches are both less than 3 miles away and are ideal for families and water sport enthusiasts alike. A public footpath leads directly from Lower Campscott to The South West Coast Path via The Grampus Inn and the picturesque village of Lee with hedgerows ablaze with fuchsias during the summer months.
The route 27, Coast to Coast cycle path runs within a mile of the farm and a short drive away the Tarka trail offers safe off road cycling for all the family with cycle hire available locally. Additionally there are numerous opportunities available including horse riding, fishing and golf for anyone wishing to take advantage of the wide open spaces and admire the wonderful scenery on offer throughout the area.
A few miles away is Exmoor National Park. A remote area where deer and wild ponies roam the open moorland and where the gorse and heather filled hills drop down to dramatic cliffs and the crashing sea below.
Nearby Barnstaple was the 1998 winner of the 'World in Bloom' award and is the commercial centre of the region. The town offers visitors a combination of sophisticated shopping with old world markets and speciality shops. The traditional Pannier markets in both Barnstaple and Bideford have offered local arts and crafts as well as local produce for over 100 years.
A short drive along the Atlantic Highway from Barnstaple brings you to the privately owned picturesque fishing village of Clovelly with its steep, cobbled traffic-free high street.
